My first Half Marathon experience at Run Reigate: A day of community, music, and fun

My first Half Marathon experience at Run Reigate

On Sunday, September 22nd, I had my first experience running at a half marathon event, and it was nothing short of incredible. The event, organised by Andrews Reigate and Run Series, was more than just a race, it was a full-on celebration. The atmosphere was electric, with music, food stalls, drinks, and even entertainment for the kids, making it a family-friendly day out.

The event was well-structured, divided into different races. It kicked off with the 10k runners, followed by the 5k race, and then the half marathon. The course was safely closed off, ensuring no traffic risks for the runners. I was particularly impressed by the community spirit, there were plenty of volunteers supporting us along the way, and even the local residents came out to cheer us on, handing out sweets and encouragement.

Water stations were conveniently placed along the route to keep us hydrated. As I approached the finish line, a live band was playing, and the music gave me that extra boost I needed to push through those final moments.

I also can't forget to mention the Pub Van, serving refreshing cold drinks, such a creative touch! The whole event had a warm, welcoming feel, and I absolutely loved it.

It’s no wonder thousands of athletes return every year for this event. Run Series truly knows how to put on an unforgettable experience for runners and the local community alike.

And to top it all off, I received a beautiful medal, not only a great keepsake, but it also unlocked fantastic deals, offers, and discounts at a variety of local shops, restaurants, and bars available just for the day after the event. It was the perfect way to celebrate and unwind after an amazing race.
